This course enables you to become an occupational diver in multiple industries such as commercial fisheries, scientific research, and marine conservation.
Acquire the necessary skills, knowledge, and expertise to lead and execute diver rescues using specialized dive techniques.
You will learn to assess situations thoroughly, determine appropriate responses, and successfully complete rescues by employing suitable methods and equipment.
Additionally, you will be trained in administering in-water rescue breathing and oxygen, enhancing your ability to save lives significantly.

Expand your knowledge of diving skills and increase your confidence prevent problems and handle unforeseen situations. The Perform Diver Rescues course allows you to lead and complete diver rescues using a range of techniques, including accurately assessing situations, determine the best course of action and execute the planned response effectively.
Online learning is completed in your own time, with support (by phone or video) to your instructor. The following durations are for in water training once you've passed your exam:
7 days for beginners:
Beginners will go through an Open Water course for 3 days, followed by the Advanced Open Water course for 2 days. The last 2 days are dedicated to rescue training.
4 days for Open Water divers:
Open Water divers will complete their AOW over 2 days, followed by 2 days of rescue training.
2 days for Advanced Open Water divers:
Take on the PADI rescue course and combine this with your VET accreditation!
1 day for Rescue divers:
Rescue divers will undergo 1 day of training and assessment.
This course is only available for Australian residents or citizens. Unfortunately, student visa holders are not eligible to apply.
You need to be 15+ years old.
We can organise this course for all levels of divers as described in detail under 'Duration'.
You'll need an occupational dive medical certificate in accordance with fitness criteria found in AS/NZS 2299.1:2015.
The following first aid certificates are needed: EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within 24 months or First Aid qualification HLTAID011 in accordance with the local regulations, Course in Basic Oxygen Administration for First Aid 22575VIC or Provide advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy HLTAID015. We can organise a current first aid certificate if you don't currently hold one as part of the course.
