Online Theory

Take the learning online and go through the course material at your own pace.

Your booking deposit pays for the learning materials. You then have 12 months to complete the online theory and schedule your practical training.

Your instructor is available via phone or video link for any questions you may have!

Small Groups

Enjoy a more personal approach. Our small group training makes learning during your diving course more adaptable and stress free. You can better focus on your own skills and become a comfortable diver.

AQF Recognised

All our occupational diving courses are nationally AQF recognised. After successful completion of your course, you will receive your accreditation certificate and be employable as a diver anywhere in Australia.

We had the best time ever with Octupus dive! The whole day was amazing. Mel picked us up in the morning for our scuba diving session in the lake. After the dives we had hot coffee and ginger cookies, we stopped at Gallos to buy some chocolates and on the way back we tried to spot platypus in Yungaburra! It felt like we were on a road trip! I totally recommend it, canâ€™t wait to go back!

So happy we found Melanie at Octopus Dive!!! Completely professional experience getting my kids (ages 12&14) Open Water certified. We traveled to Cairns from The Netherlands for their in-person training, but she was a great communicator long before that, as we made our plans and the boys took the online portion of the course. She even held a zoom session with them to review what they had learned so far and to ensure all our expectations were in-sync. Once we met her in-person, she really began to exceed expectations! As a teacher she is equal parts serious and fun and developed such a great rapport with the kids. She was patient and kind, firm and fair. Melanie even acted as a bit of a tour guide, pointing out sights along routes to and from dive sites and even took us for a hike to see a platypus in the wild. She is just so genuinely kind and fun! We are already planning a trip back next year to further the kidsâ€™ (and parentsâ€™) training with Octopus Dive. It was that good!

Very friendly and welcoming. I had a great time on my first freshwater dive. It feels like a professional operation, which is something you can miss with bigger places which are often run day to day by young divemasters trying to clock up hours. I would recommend Octupus Dive if you are keen to try something different or complete your next PADI course.

Melanie is a great instructor , friendly, patient and accomodating with regard to a combination of pool, lake and ocean dives during courses if needed. It was the first time also that I had done a Padi certification with a private instructor in a small group which was also a positive experience. I live in Atherton and I was able to complete my entire rescue diver course at lake eacham which was so convenient compared to going down to cairns a d then heading out to the reef and back! I would recommend anyone interested in doing any dive courses to contact Melanie to arrange to do their PADI certification through Octopus Dive.
