Booking Terms and Conditions
Pool Sessions “Try Dive”, “Discover Scuba Dive”, “Bubblemaker”, “Seal Team” or any in-water activities booked in swimming pools:
A full payment is required to schedule your session. In the event you cancel your booking, a refund will be granted only if you failed the medical questionnaire. For any other reasons, we will offer you to reschedule or to transfer to another person if you wish to do so. The medical and liability forms will have to be refilled if another person takes your place.
Courses from “Open Water” to “Divemaster” and “Reactivate”:
A deposit is required to access the online learning (PADI E-Learning). When purchased, this deposit becomes not refundable. In the event you cancel your booking, we will offer you to reschedule. If another day and time is not suitable, a refund for the course price less the deposit will be granted only if you failed the medical questionnaire.
“Discover Local Diving” and “Discover Scuba Diving” in open water:
A scuba diving guided tour of the lakes or Fitzroy Island requires a full prepayment. In the event you cancel, any third party involved in the booking process will not be refundable (e.g. Fitzroy Island ferry).
“Try Scuba Diving” Gift Certificates:
A gift certificate can be purchased only for pool sessions and it requires full payment for the session booked. In the event you cancel your booking, we will offer you to reschedule. A refund will be granted only if you failed the medical questionnaire. The gift certificate can be transferred to someone else as long as that person has gone through the medical questionnaire and signed all liability forms. Validity is shown on the gift certificate and the gift certificate has to be handed to the dive instructor at the time of the session.
“Try Scuba Diving” competition:
The gift certificate is valid for 1 person only. Any additional person booking for the same session incurs an additional cost. Contact us for more details. During any social media competition, our privacy policy page will come in place, see here.
Medical Conditions
Some medical conditions may preclude a person from diving. Please check the medical questionnaire here or contact us for further details.
Before any in-water activities, we will require a medical and liability forms to be filled out. We reserve the right to prevent any customer from diving if we believe that your safety is at risk.
Scuba Diving
All certified divers are to present a valid certification card.
Any participant to any in-water activities has to fill out specific forms to the activity. All forms have to be filled out and signed.
We reserve the right, for our customer’s safety, to prevent them from diving if they are deemed physically or medically unfit. No refund will be offered if unable to complete all dives (e.g. Discover Local Diving, 2 dives included, only 1 dive performed).
We strongly recommend to wait 24 hours before flying after diving.
You must not participate in any in-water activities while under the influence of alcohol or any drugs. We won’t be liable for any customers should they participate in any activities with Octopus Dive whilst under the influence of alcohol or any drugs. We reserve the right to refuse any in-water activities in the event we have reasons to believe a customer has consumed alcohol or drugs.
If any equipment belonging to Octopus Dive is damaged or lost, the customer will be charged for the cost of replacement or repair.
Insurance
We strongly recommend for any participant to have medical cover for scuba diving activities. In the event medical emergency services have to be called, all expenses will be taken on by the customer, Octopus Dive will not be liable for any expenses. We recommend Divers Alert Network (DAN) www.diversalertnetwork.org for additional insurance coverage related to scuba diving activities.
Age restrictions
Any swimming pool activities, the minimum age to participate is 8 years old.
Any open water activities, the minimum age to participate is 12 years old, except when undergoing entry-level certifications, it is 10 years old.
Any person under 18 years of age must have all relevant medical and liability forms signed by a parent or Guardian.
Liability
We follow strict guidelines when it comes to safety, whether through the Professional Associations of Diving Instructors or state and territory laws.
If in the unlikely event of any loss, damage, injury or death were to arise while undergoing activities with Octopus Dive, we are not to be liable whether or not such damage or personal injury is contributed by us.
You and your clients are aware of the risk involved while scuba diving and you agree that activities taken with us will involve a certain degree of physical exertion.
The use of any of gear hired from us are at your own risk.
Notwithstanding the above, we reserve the right to rely upon any limitation of liability and/or defence available under any applicable law(s) and/or international convention(s) for any claim made by you or your client against us.
